Respirator fit testing (Qualitative)
A respirator fit test (also known as a mask fit test) is required under AS/NZS 1715:2009 “Use and maintenance of respiratory protective devices”.
Any employee who uses respirator PPE (full-face reusable respirator, half-face reusable respirator, half-face disposable respirator) should undergo a respiratory fit test.
The test uses a hood and testing agents (Bitrex or Saccharin) and relies on the users ability to taste or smell a test agent resulting in a pass or fail.
The test takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
In addition to the actual test, our experienced team also provides education and training on:
At completion of the test a Fit Test Report and Fit Testing Register is provided to the company for record keeping and to assist with any health & safety requirements.
Our team provides both Quantitative Fit Testing and Qualitative Fit Testing through out the central North Island including Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Otorohanga, Cambridge, Morrinsville, Matamata, Thames, Coromandel, Waihi, Tauranga, Rotorua, Taupo and Whakatane.
